Abstract

This study aims to describe many kinds of harmonious and inharmonic behaviour of Islamic boarding junior high school’s student and also the reasons/ motivation underlying on its. The method used is qualitative method in the model of qualitatif descriptive. Preliminary research had done to collect early data. While, the main data collection was using open questionnaire. The respondent of this study are 100 students of 7th, 8th and 9th grader of an Islamic Boarding Junior High School in academic year 2014/2015, with details are 41 male students and 59 female students. The result is as follows: (1) From 100 respondents that researcher’s has, according to the answered that researcher got from 20 questions in the questionnaire, it showed 85,90% of them, or 86 respondents tend to have a harmonious attitude. The result also shows there are 11,10%, or 11 students who had inharmonious attitude., and 3 students more had an uncertainty attitude. (2) There are several reasons, why student in Islamic boarding Junior High School has a harmonious attitude are: (a) to keep harmony/ togetherness/ friendship. (b) to practice the teachings/ religious values. (c) empathy/ care about the condition of friends. (d) to enforce rules of school/ boarding. (3) Several reasons why student show disharmony attitude are: (a) selfish attitude, (b) grudge/ avenge the unpleasant deeds of friends. (c) to make friend wary/ want to changes. The most dominant harmonious attitude shown in the situation/ study activities or dealing with academic, which shown by the 92% of students agreed to have harmonious attitude.The lowest procentage of harmony was showed when in the case of facing friends in unfavourable characters. Nevertheless, student harmony procentation is relativally good, which is 78%. The final conclusion of this research is the students of Islamic boarding junior high school tend to have harmonious attitude
