Abstract

Introduction: Mental disorders can happen to anyone and anytime. The results of WHO’s analysis mentioned that about 450 million people suffer from disorders including schizophrenia. Schizophrenia appears at the age of 15-25 years and more common in males than in females. Patients who are in the hospital with the same diagnosis have different predisposing factors, these different predisposing factors are important information to serve as the basis of nursing care in patients with mental disorders. Objective: To know the predisposing stressors that contribute to mental disorders in schizophrenic patients. Method of Research: This research is conducted by using qualitative research design with narrative inquiry approach. The respondents are 8 people that selected by using purposive sampling technique. Results: The researchers found that predisposing stressors that support the occurrence of mental disorders are different, namely maladaptive coping, hallucinations and predisposition Conclusion: There are several variations predisposing stressor that supports the occurrence of mental disorders in Surakarta Psychiatry Hospital. The results that found are maladaptive coping with angry, irritated, and hitting characteristics. Hallucinations are marked by sounding voices, hearing whispers, talking themselves digressing. Predisposition caused by desire that not achieved, lack of attention / lack of affection from husband, broken heart, divorce, bully, and lost. Keywords: Mental Disorders, Predisposition.
