Abstract

The aim of this study is (1) To find contribution of professional competence on teacher performance in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Surakarta, (2) To find contribution motivation of teacher on teacher performance in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Surakarta, (3) To find contribution of professional competence and motivation of teacher on teacher performance in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Surakarta. This type of research is quantitative associative. The population in this study are MAN 1 and MAN 2 Surakarta teachers with the number of 160 teachers. Samples were taken as many as 110 teachers with proportional random sampling. The data are result from questionnaire and documentation that had previously been tested for validity and reliability. Tecnique of analysis data using multiple linear regression analysis, t test, F test, test R2, relative and effective contribution. Based on the data analysis obtained by multiple linear regression equation, it shows as follows: Y = 3,182 + 0,408 X1 + 0,400 X2 This equation shows that teacher performance are influenced by professional competence and motivation of teacher. Based on the analysis and discussion it can be concluded that: (1) There is contribution of Professional competence toward teacher performance. Based on multiple linear regression analysis (t test) known that t count> t table, 7,265 > 2,00 and significance value <0, 05, that is 0.000 with relative contribution equal to 65% and effective contribution 38,7%. (2) There is contribution of Motivation of teacher toward teacher performance. Based on multiple linear regression analysis (t test) known that t count> t table, is 4,528 > 2,000 and significance value <0, 05, that is 0.000 with relative contribution equal to 35% and effective contribution 20,9%. (3) There is contribution of Professional competence and motivation of teacher toward teacher performance. Based on analysis of double linear regression variance (F test) known that F count> F table, that is 78,973 > 3,150 and significance value <0,05, that is 0.000. Coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.596 or by 59.6%, while 40.4% is influenced by other variables not examined.
