Abstract

The aim of this research was (1) to reveal the character building management through ‘ketarunaan’ education programme in SMK Negeri 2 Sragen, (2) to reveal draft development of character building management through ‘ketarunaan’ education programme in SMK Negeri 2 Sragen. This research used qualitative approach in form of descriptive. The source of the data consists of: informant, documents along with time and place. The data collecting techniques were by using observation, interview, and documentation. The data validations used were source triangulation techniques and technique triangulation. The data analysis used were interactive of analysis consist of four main components. Those were data collecting, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed: (1) The education planning of ‘ketarunaan’ made by ‘ketarunaan’ practitioner at the beginning of academic year involved with intent, purpose and basic material of ‘ketarunaan’. (2) The implementation of character building through ‘ketarunaan’ programme in SMK Negeri 2 Sragen worked maximally. Since the material given was in accordance with syllabus, the implementation correspond to the listed schedule in annual training programme and semester training programme, the implementing structure accomplished the duty based on main tasks and functions. (3) There were two evaluations involved; those were the evaluation to implementation and outcome evaluations of cadets/ prospective midwives. The process of ‘ketarunaan’ implementation worked well as planned, the outcome of cadets/ prospective midwives showed that ‘ketarunaan’ education programme can build learners characteristics.
