Abstract
The purpose of this study is to (1) describe the background sosio-historis novelist; (2) set out the structure novel DKLSS creation Ifa Avianty; (3) reveals the inner conflict of the main character in the novel DKLSS creation Ifa Avianty; (4) describes the implementation of the novel DKLSS as one of the teaching material in high school literature. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data in this study were sentences and excerpts of the novel DKLSS creation Ifa Avianty. Source data in this study divided into two primary data sources and secondary data sources. The primary data sources in this study is novel DKLSS creation Ifa Avianty and secondary data sources on this research is a biography of a novelist. The data is validated by using triangulation theory. Data analyis technique used is the method of reading semiotic models. The results of this study are (1) sosio-historis background of Ifa Avianty born in Jakarta, 21 Mei 1970 known as a novelist; (2) elements of strukturalism in the novel is theme and fact of the story. The theme in the novel about takes never give up spirit shown by Darmawan family. Figure in this novel Adis, Papa, Aline, Radian, Andra, and Andre. The plot used is cronological plot. Place background that is used in Jakarta, San Fransisco. The background time occurs in the present time. The social setting that describes the social condition of the Adis family; (3) the inner conflict of the main character in the novel DKLSS covers approach-avoidance conflict and avoidance-avoidance; (4) the research can be implemented in literary learning in senior high school class XI semester I, novel DKLSS in accordance with the criteria of teaching materials is terms of language, psychology, and cultural background.
