Abstract

Culture is one of the invaluable heritage, thus preserving culture is a thing that must be done, and now many people are already starting to forget their culture, even reluctant to watch it, one of which is sriwedari wayang orang, where attendance slightly but there is still a loyal audience watched him repeatedly, it allows the individual to know about his need to witness the wayang orang, according to Maslow's theory of herarchy of needs, so researchers would like to know the urge that makes them choose to stay to watch puppets. This study used a qualitative approach, the subject in this study amounted to 5 people, who have different backgrounds, the method of election of the subject in this study using a purposive sampling. The collection of the data retrieved is the interview. In this study uses the theory of herarki needs. The research results obtained are subject are already familiar with what they want while watching the Sriwedariwayang orang according to Maslow's theory of needs herarchy, which when watching them desirous to know the messages in the story line, a wishes to spend time with family, and want to see their idol figure, which makes the subject feel happy after watching the Sriwedari’swayangorang so they liked it and even want to watch it repeatedly.
