Abstract
The aim of this research are to describe the level of thinking and skill of student geometry based on Van Hiele theory in SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Surakarta class VIII C. This research used qualitative descriptive method. Technique of collecting data by test dan interview. Technique of analyzing data through data reduction phase, data presentation and conclusion. The data validity investigation used triangulation method. The examination of data validity by triangulation method, that is by collecting different data from the same source through test and interview technique. Based on data analysis and discussion are: Levels of students' thinking on the level of pre-0 as many as 13 students that is 52% of the number of students class VIII C. Students with thinking level pre 0 developments have visual, verbal and drawing geometry skills, students' skills with level pre 0 are still weak. Level of thinking students at level 0 (recognition)) as many as 11 students that is 44% of the number of students of class VIII C Students with thinking level 0 (recognition) developments have visual, verbal, drawing, logic and applied geometry skills, student skills with level 0 (recognition) pertained. While, level of student thinking at level 1 (analysis) as much as 1 student that is 4% of student class VIII C.Students with thinking level 1 (analysis) developments have mastered of visual, verbal, drawing, logic and applied geometry skills, student skills with level 1 (analysis) are high.
