Abstract

The objective of this research is to increase student learning activity on mathematics subjects through cooperative learning type Think Pair Share. This research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) and research subject is student and teacher of class X.IPS3 MAN 1 Boyolali. The subject of the recipient is a student of class X.IPS3 totaling 39 students. The subject of action is the teacher of mathematics class X.IPS3 Ibu Utaminingsih S.Pd. Data collection methods used include observation, field notes, interviews, documentation and tests. Data analysis techniques used in the research are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. From the withdrawal Conclusion obtained that the learning process by using cooperative strategy type think pair share can improve activity ability in learning matematia especially subject matter of matrix. This shows that linking learning materials with the daily life of the students will be easier to understand. By learning in pairs in learning will make students more active and creative, so that the student's courage to ask questions and do the questions. In addition, by paired learning students can share their ideas with each other, so that students have new knowledge to improve the ability of mathematical activity. While the teacher acts as a teacher and mentor students in working on the problem. And researchers act as observers and mentors in the students do the question. From the results of research that has dilakuakan of the mathematical activity indicator increased student learning activity increased from the initial condition of 27.27% in the cycle I to 35.89% increase in cycle II to 75.05%. Mastery of student material has increased from initial condition 20,30% in cycle I menjasi 45,58% in cycle II increase become 85,95%.
