Abstract
The study included three purposes: (1) Finding variations of the use of conjunctions in reader letters on the Kompas newspaper, (2) Explaining the accuracy of the use of conjunctions in letters on the Kompas newspaper, and (3) Applying variations and accurate use of conjunctions on reader letters in Kompas newspaper as teaching materials on writing opinion of 12th grade high school students. This type of research is qualitative research. Data collection in this research uses two techniques, namely: observationand noting technique. The method used in this study is distributional method. Data analysis technique in this research is technique of Immediate Constituent Analysis (ICA) and the techniques read a spead. The advanced techbique used is a from of parafrasal changed. The results found in this study are (1) variation of coordinative conjunction seen from the structure of functional, (2) inaccurate use of conjunction on the reader letter, (3) writing opinion materials on12thhigh school at second semester KD 4.10 WritingOpinion in the form of articles.
