Abstract
The purpose of this study is to know the teacher's speech in the school environment and the use of the principle of decency in the teacher's speech at school. This study focuses on maxim-spring research in the principle of decency in teacher's speech in the school environment. The research is implied as an innovation of teaching materials writing critical responses of class XI SMP based on KI 4 and KD 4.2 is composing critical response text. Technique used in this research use recording technique record note. The method used in this study is the intralingual equivalent of the analytical method by connecting and comparing lingual elements. The results of research are as follows: 1). Tact Maxim: (a) Wisdom in Learning, (b) Wisdom in Inviting and Governing, (c) Wisdom in Asking, (d) Wisdom in Giving Permission. 2). Approvation Maxim: (a) Acceptance in Learning, (b) Acceptance in Assistance (c). 3). Generosity Maxim: (a) Mercy in Learning and Motivation, (b) Generosity in Appreciating, (c) Mercy in Praise. 4). Modesty Maxim. 5). Agreement Maxim: a) Matches in Learning, (b) Matches in Help. 6). Sympathy Maxim: (a) Sympathy in Appreciating, (b) Sympathy in Praying. This research will be implicated as teaching materials to write critical responses in junior high school and made as teaching materials in the process of teaching and learning in the classroom
