Abstract
This study aims to describe (1) the social background of the author (2) the structure of short stories (3) social criticism contained in the short stories in the collection of short stories AIMMJ? And (4) its implementation in learning Indonesian language and literature high school. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative. The object under study is the social criticism contained in AIMMJ's short story collection? The research data is taken from the primary data source that is the text of AIMMJ short story collection and secondary data source namely the author's biography from magazines, newspapers, internet, and also the learning tools which include RPP, syllabus, curriculum KTSP. Technique of collecting data using literature study method, refer to, and record. Data analysis using dialectic technique that is comprehension -the original explanation of the fact of humanity understood in unity. The results showed (1) the social setting of the author of the five authors namely Ahmad Tohari, Faisal Oddang, Agus Noor, Jujur Prananto and Putu Wijaya viewed from the biography, the works and the characteristics of authorship. (2) Short story structure in AIMMJ short story collection? Consists of themes, plots, characters, settings, sentence styles and point of view. From these structures can be concluded the five short stories have the advantage so worthy of study materials. (3) The social critics contained in the short stories in AIMMJ's short story collection? Among others (a) Criticism of poverty and violation of community norms in the short story "This Child Wants to Urinate Jakarta?" By Ahamad Tohari. (B) Criticism on the environmental problems of the short story "People from the South Must Die That Night" by Faisal Oddang. (C) Criticism of crime in the short story "Judge Sarmin" by Agus Noor. (D) Criticism of environmental issues (social environment) in short stories "Basa Basi" by Jujur Prananto and (e) Criticism of violations of community norms in the form of unfair treatment of minorities and criticism of family disorganization in short stories "Jenggo" The work of Putu Wijaya. (4) Implementation in learning involves relevance of research result with SK and KD of Indonesian subjects. The SK and KD KTSP 2006 which is appropriate is SK 13 listening, understanding the reading of short story with KD 13.1 that is identifying the plot, characterization, and background in the short story that read. The five short stories deserve to be used as teaching materials in accordance with the criteria of Rahmanto teaching materials that include language, mental maturity (psychology) and cultural background of students.
