Abstract

Hanafi Nurhalimah Kusumawati/ A310130120.COMPETENCE WRITING NARRATED TEXT BASED ON INTERVIEW TEXT ON CLASSIC VII CLASS IN SMP NEGERI 1 GESI.Thesis Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. July, 2017. This study has two purposes. First, to describe the ability of class VII students in changing the text of the interview result into narrative text in SMP Negeri 1 Gesi. Second, to describe the weakness experienced by class VII students in changing the text of the interview result into narrative text in SMP Negeri 1 Gesi. This research includes descriptive qualitative research type. The research design used in this research is case study. The data used in this study in the form of narrative writing of learners. The results showed that the ability of students in SMP Negeri 1 Gesi is still relatively low because of the score less than 70 is still a lot. The ability of learners in writing narrative text based on interview text is judged based on seven aspects adopted from Meilina Indra Suciana (2010). The seven aspects include (1) the suitability of the narrative content with the interview text, (2) the use of direct and indirect sentences, (3) spelling and punctuation, (4) cohesion and coherence, (5) diction, (6) chronological events , And (7) neatness of writing. Based on the assessment of seven aspects of the students who scored between 86-100 there are 3,75%, the value of 71-85 there are 35,21%, the value of 55-70 there are 58,21%, the value of less than 55 there are 2,81%. Obstacles that become weak points in writing narrative text lies in aspects of spelling and punctuation.
