Abstract

The object of the study is the movie entitled The Queen. The study gives focus on the personality of Elizabeth II. The major problem of this study is how is the personality of Elizabeth II in The Queen movie by Peter Morgan based on Psychoanalytic Approach. This research is aimed to analyze movie through its element and to analyze the personality of Elizabeth II in The Queen movie based on psychoanalytic approach. This research paper is qualitative research. The object of the study is Elizabeth II in The Queen movie. The primary data source is taken from Elizabeth’s The Queen movie manuscript taken from http: www. IMSDbscript.com/the queen. The secondary data sources are taken from other sources, which are related to the primary data that support the analysis. They are books of literary theory and virtual references as documentation. The methods of data collection used for collecting data are library research and documentation. The technique of data analysis is descriptive analysis. The result of the study reveals the personality of Elizabeth II in The Queen movie. In The Queen movie, Peter Morgan creates this movie aiming commemorates tenth of Princess Wales’s death. He describes about the sacrifice of a queen to people of British behind the tragedy of princess of Wales died on August, 1997.
