Abstract
Introduction : Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is a disease as the result of constriction of blood vessels , blockage or rudiment of coronary vessels that is caused by hypertension as one of risk factors. Hypertension can be influenced by intakes total fat and potassium which are not in accordance with body’s needs. One of efforts to prevent complication in coronary heart disease there are by obeying diet for CHD’s patients. Purpose : This research aimed to understand the relationship between intakes of total fat and potassium and blood pressure in coronary heart disease outpatients at heart polyclinic of Dr. Moewardi hospital. Research Method : The study was an observational research with cross sectional design.The respondents were selected through consecutive sampling technique, and obtained 37 respondents with regard to the criteria for inclusion and exclusion of respondents. Data collection on intakes of total fat and potassium used the 24-hour recall and measurement of patients blood pressure used sfigmomanometer. Analysis data used Chi-Square tests. Result : Respondents who had abnormal intakes of total fat and potassium were 51,4% and 59,5%, respectively 56,8% respondents had blood pressure ≥140 / 90 mmHg or hypertension. Conclusion : Statistic tests showed there was relationship between intake of total fat and blood pressure (p = 0,033) and there was a relationship between the intake of potassium and blood pressure (p = 0,018).
