Abstract
The extension of language is very important for our life, especially in our interaction. Sometimes, the people use the specific terms to make their communication and interaction easier. This language is register, a complex descriptive and value words, its meaning depends on the context and situation of person using it. This research paper describes how the English registerS used by employees of Ungaran Sari Garment, in Pringapus, Ungaran. The objective of this study to identify the linguistics form of registers used by employees of Ungaran Sari Garment and to elaborate the meaning each of register used by employees of Ungaran Sari Garment. In collecting data, the writer uses the methods of interview and observation. The techniques of data analysis are classifying the linguistics form of register with uses the grammatical theory and determine the meaning of register based on Poedjosoedarmo’s theory. The data which are analyzed are 22 words representing linguistics foms and meanings. The finding show that there are 16 words categorized as a noun, 3 word categorized as a verb, and 3 word categorized as a compound word. Viewed from the kinds of meaning it is classified into six categorizes, there are: (1) the real meaning is broader than the new meaning represented by the same word, (2) the real meaning of is narrower than it is new meaning, (3) the real meaning and the new meaning of the word could be identical to each other, (4) the real meaning and the new meaning of the word could be quite different, (5) the real meaning and the new meaning can share some feature of meaning here each of them has different meaning, and (6) the new meaning doesn’t have the real meaning.
