Abstract
Heavy equipment is an important factor in large-scale construction projects. The purpose of using heavy equipment is to make it easier for humans to do work so that the expected results can be achieved more easily in a relatively short time. Heavy equipment can be categorized into several classifications, namely functional classification and operational classification. The system that supports the performance of the Wheel Loader is the Torque Converter. The torque converter is one of the main components in the hydraulic drive system which functions as a transmitter of energy or power from the engine to the transmission which uses oil fluid as the medium. Of the many jobs that can be carried out by a Wheel Loader, it is never free from damage, and if the Torque Converter is damaged, the transfer of power from the engine to the transmission will not run normally and the Wheel Loader will also experience a significant decrease in performance, causing damage to the unit. This Wheel Loader is low power which is caused by bearing damage and clogging of fine grams. Based on this, it is very interesting to discuss improvements to the Torque Converter component. Apart from that, in this final project there is also a calculation and design of bearings as an approach to designing bearing life spans which is expected to be better and can minimize if similar damage occurs.
