Abstract
This research aims to find out whether there is a relationship between Self-Confidence and Social Anxiety in 2020-2022 Psychology Faculty Students at Muhammadiyah University, Surakarta. The population in this study were Psychology students Class 2020-2022. The total population is 936 psychology students. The sample used was 90 psychology students. This research uses a questionnaire with a self-confidence scale and a social anxiety scale. This research is quantitative research. The data analysis method uses simple correlation. The results of this research show that the product moment correlation test results obtained a sig. (2-tailed) 0.000, with a person correlation value of -0.746, where p<0.05, which means the correlation coefficient is negative, so this shows that social anxiety decreases when self-confidence increases and vice versa. Based on the results of the categorization of the social anxiety variable, it was found that 43.3% of psychology students experienced anxiety in the moderate category. Then for the self-confidence variable, it was found that 50% of psychology students experienced anxiety in the moderate category. The conclusion from this research is that there is a significant relationship between self-confidence and social anxiety in students from the 2020-2022 Faculty of Psychology at Muhammadiyah University, Surakarta.
