Abstract

The objectives of this study are (1) to describe the background of the School Literacy Movement at Ngabeyan 01 State Elementary School, (2) to describe the form or form of innovation of the School Literacy Movement that can improve the Minimum Competency Assessment, (3) to describe the activities of the School Literacy Movement that can contribute to Ngabeyan 01 State Elementary School, (4) to know the advantages and results of the School Literacy Movement in preparing the Minimum Competency Assessment. This research used phenomenological qualitative research. This research was conducted in January 2024-June 2024. Data were collected using observation, interview and documentation techniques. Data validity using triangulation of sources, techniques and time. Data analysis is an interactive model consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The result of this study is that the School Literacy Movement is motivated by the low value of the Minimum Competency Assessment and the lack of interest in literacy (reading, writing) and numeracy (counting) so that schools form a new programme, namely the School Literacy Movement. The School Literacy Movement was implemented in 2022 by involving the school community and utilising the environment around the school. In GLS there is an implementation structure, the benefits of implementing the school literacy movement, the implementation of the school literacy movement, and the school literacy movement materials. Forms or forms of innovation in the School Literacy Movement are groups, reading books in the library, numeracy activities, writing activities, role playing, discussions and presentations, SaNum and SaLis, and playing numeracy. Through this form or form of innovation, the School Literacy Movement activities will have an impact on students and schools in preparing for the Minimum Competency Assessment in Primary Schools. The contribution of the School Literacy Movement at SD Negeri Ngabeyan 01 and its relationship with the Minimum Competency Assessment, of course in the application of the School Literacy Movement, it contributes to teachers, students and parents. Where with this contribution activity there are motivations including fostering interest in reading, creative methods, providing rewards and recognition, involving a community, creating a positive literacy environment, and providing feedback. The relationship between the school literacy movement and the minimum competency assessment is related to content, context and cognition. The advantages of the school literacy movement are the increase in students' Minimum Competency Assessment scores which resulted in the extension of school accreditation with results from 4.00 to 8.00.
