Abstract

Against the background of the cultural conditions in Indonesia, especially in Cianjur, as well as the need for cultural preservation and development in the face of the impact of globalisation and modern technology. A rich and diverse local culture is an important asset that can be an attraction for tourism and the local economy. The importance of preserving Cianjur's culture, including the fragrant pandanus rice tradition, encourages the development of Tegallega Village into a Cultural Village. The purpose of this development is to promote and preserve local culture, promote cultural tourism, and have a positive impact on the local economy and community. In the formulation of the problem, it is stated that there are several factors that cause the oblivion of local culture, such as the influence of globalisation, the lack of interest of the younger generation, and the lack of a place to preserve local culture. The aims and objectives of this research include designing Tegallega Village into a Cultural Village, promoting the culture of fragrant pandanus rice, designing supporting buildings with the concept of vernacular architecture, providing adequate facilities, and accommodating local cultural activities. In designing Kampung Budaya Padi Pandan Wangi, the architectural approach used is Sundanese vernacular architecture to maintain local cultural identity. The concept of Sundanese vernacular architecture highlights the use of local materials, traditional construction techniques, and layouts that accommodate the social and cultural needs of the local community. Thus, the development of Tegallega Village into a Cultural Village not only strengthens local cultural identity, but also creates a harmonious space between tradition and modernity.
