Abstract

The development of a region's tourism sector is closely related to the development of local spatial planning as a supporting sector of the local economy. Pemalang is one of the cities that has a high tourism attraction, especially at Widuri Beach. However, in 2023, there was a decrease in the number of tourists at Widuri Beach due to the lack of effective management. This situation encourages efforts to develop tourism potential on the beach, by proposing a resort design with a family friendly concept in the Widuri Beach area, Pemalang. The resort is designed with a biophilic architecture approach to increase tourist attraction, the number of visits, and positive economic impacts for the local community. The resort is focused on family tourism by providing cottages, camping areas, restaurants, and outdoor recreation facilities. The design integrates natural elements with visual and non-visual connections, and pays attention to thermal comfort and airflow. It is hoped that the resort will become a model of a sustainable tourist destination that attracts both domestic and foreign tourists, and has a positive impact on tourism and the local economy.
