Abstract

The implementation of legal protection for e-commerce consumers on expired products must be considered. Shopping activities are now easier because they can be done through the marketplace to buy and sell, but in practice some consumers from e-commerce experience losses. The purpose of the research is to find out how to implement legal protection for consumers over the circulation of expired products, as well as to find out what are the obstacles or obstacles in the implementation of Law No. 8 of 1999. The research method used is empirical. The research uses a type of qualitative research that goes directly into the field. Data type: The data used in this study is primary data using interview techniques, as well as literature data as support. The data collection method was by interviewing the Klaten Non-Governmental Consumer Protection Institution with questions containing consumer protection over the circulation of expired products. Legal protection for consumers in e-commerce transactions is regulated in the legislation that regulates online buying and selling, namely Law No. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. The author has conducted an interview with the Klaten Non-Governmental Consumer Protection Institute. And it was found that there were reports about the circulation of expired products, especially in e-commerce. In addition, there are external and external obstacles in the implementation of consumer protection
