Abstract

Frontline employees are employees who have greater work pressure than other employees, especially hotel employees, so the stress they cause is greater. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between emotional labor and perceived organizational and work stress. The research design used is quantitative correlational research. The population of this research is frontline employees who work in hotels in the Surakarta area. The data collection method uses a Likert model psychological scale, namely the emotional labor scale (13 items, α = 0.901), the perceived organizational support scale (15 items, α = 0.705) and the work stress scale (23 items, α = 0.954). The data analysis used was multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS version 24.0. The results of the analysis show an F value of 51.982 with sig 0.000 (p < 0.05), so it can be concluded that the major hypothesis is proven that the variables Emotional Labor and Perceived Organizational Support have a significant relationship with Job Stress. The results of minor hypothesis 1 show a correlation value of 0.542 (positive) and a significance of 0.000 (sig <0.05), meaning that the Emotional Labor variable and the Job Stress variable have a significant positive relationship. The results of minor hypothesis 2 obtained a correlation value of - 0.287 and a significance of 0.000 (sig < 0.05), meaning that the Perceived Organizational Support variable and the Work Stress variable have a significant negative relationship. Based on these results, it shows that the entire hypothesis in this study can be accepted.
