Abstract

Increasing competition in finding a job and the many problems related to the world of work such as unemployment can lead to anxiety about the world of work among final year students. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-confidence and adversity quotient with anxiety in facing the world of work in final year students. The subject provisions are students of the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, class of 2019-2020 who are in their final year, as many as 100 people with a sampling technique using purposive sample. The data collection instrument used three scales, namely the self-confidence scale, the adversity quotient scale, and the anxiety scale in facing the world of work. The data analysis method used is multiple regression analysis with the help of SPSS 25 software. This study shows the results that there is a relationship between self-confidence and adversity quotient with anxiety in facing the world of work in final year students as evidenced by the significance value = 0.000 (p <0.05) and the value of F = 188.570. This study also shows the results that there is a very significant negative relationship between self-confidence and anxiety in facing the world of work with a significance value = 0.00 (<0.05) and r = -0.813, and there is a very significant negative relationship between adversity quotient and anxiety in facing the world of work with a significance value = 0.00 (<0.05) and r = -0.825. This study has concluded that there is a relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable.
