Abstract

The research aims to describe the process of forming the religious character of female students (santriwati) through the one-for-fifteen dormitory management at Al Mu'min Muhammadiyah Tembarak Islamic Boarding School, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors. This is a field research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection methods used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects include the Director of the Islamic Boarding School (Mudirul Ma'had), the Head of the Female Student Affairs, the dormitory caregivers (musyrifah), and the female students (santriwati). In the analysis, the data obtained are reduced, presented in the form of descriptions, and then concluded using the deductive method. The results show that the formation of the religious character of the female students through the one-for-fifteen dormitory management at Al Mu'min Muhammadiyah Tembarak Islamic Boarding School is carried out in a planned, organized, and evaluated manner. The process includes planning programs at the beginning of the school year, implementing daily, weekly, monthly, and annual activities covering aspects of worship, morals, Islamic knowledge, skills, and the development of the students' interests and talents, organizing the division of tasks for the musyrifah with a ratio of 1:15, as well as gradual supervision and evaluation by the musyrifah, the Head of the Female Student Affairs, and the Director of the Islamic Boarding School. The approaches used include exemplary, habituation, advice, attention, and punishment, with methods such as lectures, discussions, question and answer sessions, assignments, and field trips. As a result, the female students show significant improvements in their obedience to worship, practice of noble morals, enthusiasm for learning, and readiness to apply their knowledge in the community. The supporting factors include the exemplary role of the caregivers and musyrifah, the support of the students' guardians, the conducive environment of the Islamic boarding school, the integrative curriculum, and the cooperation of various parties. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include the diversity of the students' backgrounds, the negative influence of information and communication technology, limited facilities and human resources, and inconsistency in implementing the rules. To maximize the supporting factors and minimize the inhibiting factors, strategies such as strengthening individual mentoring, filtering and educating media, reward-punishment systems, and collaboration and communication with the students' guardians are implemented.
