Abstract
The role of parents in developing children's potential has a very important urgency because children need direction and guidance from their parents so that their potential develops optimally. One form of developing children's potential is taking part in activities outside of academics, especially sports. The aim of this research is to describe. parental involvement and examining differences between fathers and mothers in supporting children in individual sports. This research uses descriptive quantitative methods. The variables in this study are parental involvement and parental gender. The respondents involved in this research were parents who had children in their early teens who participated in individual sports. The measuring tool used is the parental involvement scale. The analysis techniques used are bivariate analysis and univariate analysis. The results of the bivariate analysis show that there is no difference in the involvement of fathers and mothers in aspects of attention, nutrition, infrastructure, but there are differences in the involvement of fathers and mothers in environmental aspects.
