Abstract

To implement active learning, this can be done by implementing active learning strategies, one of which is the Crossword Puzzle strategy. The aim of this strategy is to determine whether there is an influence of the Crossword Puzzle learning strategy on students’ learning interest and to determine whether there is an influence of the Crossword Puzzle learning strategy on student learning outcomes.This research is included in quantitative research with a Quasy Experiment research design. This research is research that tests the hypothesis of a cause-and-effect relationship. The subjects studied were students. The object is the application of crossword puzzle learning strategies to student learning outcomes. The population in this study was 100 students. The sample in this study was grouped into two groups, 32 class VIIA students as the control class and 32 class VIIB students as the experimental class. Judging from the average learning interest of experimental class students, it was found to be 60.84. Compared with the conventional class, the average was 59.44. It can be concluded that there is an influence between the learning model and students’ learning interest on mathematics learning outcomes.Then, looking at the average student learning outcomes for the experimental class, it was found to be 65.47. Compared with the conventional class, the average was 69.69. It can be concluded that there is no influence of the crossword puzzle learning strategy on mathematics learning outcomes.
