Abstract

Teachers are ranked first among the professions with the highest stress levels, especially teachers who teach children with autism (Abu et al., 2018). The barriers that children with autism have, such as interactional and emotional disorders, threaten the confidence and success of teachers (Swierczynski, 2019). Therefore, in order to maximize the learning of children with special needs, there is a need for educators who are experienced in their field. However, in reality, there are still many teachers who teach autistic children outside the PLB department, or also known as non-linear teachers. This study aims to determine how the psychological well-being of non-linear teachers who teach autistic children is described. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, while the sample criteria in this study were: non-linear teachers from majors other than PLB and are teaching autistic children. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection will be done through interview and observation. The data analysis method to be used is Qualitative Data Analysis (QDA) in descriptive form, the information obtained from this research is then processed using Qualitative Data Analysis software called QDA Miner Lite. The result of this study is that the psychological well-being of non-linear teachers who teach autistic children is considered good because it has fulfilled the six dimensions of psychological well-being despite the different ways and experiences of teaching.
