Abstract

This study aims to illustrate how a character named Cory might demonstrate ambition and what generates it. The study employs qualitative research approaches. The study also takes a psychological approach, using Ludwig Klages' psychological theory of personality and Widarso's supporting theory about goals to explain and support the study on a character named Cory's ambition in the 2016 film Fences. As a character who can fulfill all the requirements for his ambition, including the physiological type of ambition, factors of ambition and ambition management, and all that he desires to manifest, this study suggests that Cory's ambition in the movie Fences is 201. This can be inferred from the characteristics of ambitious people who are motivated by their own self-interest and hard work. Have the aspiration mirrored in this movie
