Abstract

This research was conducted because Inclusive Education in the City of Surakarta is a model school in Indonesia, as well as the need for information regarding special schools and inclusion schools, which will later be related to the educational journey of these students, as well as the need for information regarding educational facilities and accessibility for students with special needs in the city of Surakarta. In order to support the government and help disabled children gain their right to study in the Surakarta City area, it is important that research related to Mapping the Distribution of Special Schools (SLB) and Distance Accessibility for Middle and High School/K Children with Special Needs uses a Geographic Information System. The objectives of this research are 1) to examine the distribution of special schools and inclusive schools for people with disabilities and 2) to analyze the distribution of the types of special needs served by each special school, especially for people with disabilities, in the City of Surakarta using the Geographic Information System. 2) Analyze the accessibility of educational services for people with disabilities in the city of Surakarta. This research uses a census method, namely 15 special schools and 16 inclusion schools, in order to obtain the location and coordinate points of each special school. Secondary data collection methods are used from the Surakarta City DISDIK and Surakarta City BPS for data processing and field surveys to get the coordinates and location of the special school. Making a Map of the Distribution of Special Schools in the City of Surakarta using ArcMap 10.3. The research results obtained showed that the distribution of SLB (special schools) in the city of Surakarta produced a random or scattered distribution pattern. Accessibility: Most of the roads are in good condition and can be traversed using four-wheeled vehicles or two-wheeled vehicles;
