Abstract
The importance of addressing mental disorders is significant, as mental well-being greatly affects an individual's quality of life. Mental disorders include changes in mental functions that prevent individuals from fulfilling their roles in society. With an increase in cases of mental disorders globally, lack of knowledge is an obstacle in the recovery of sufferers. This study aims to determine the relationship between age, education level, and duration of caring for clients with family knowledge related to mental disorders. This type of research is quantitative and involves families who care for members with mental disorders at the Regional Mental Hospital (RSJD) dr. Arif Zainuddin Surakarta, with 96 respondents selected through the Non-Probability Sampling method, specifically Accidental Sampling. This research design is descriptive correlative. The research instruments include a demographic questionnaire and a knowledge questionnaire with 20 questions, including 4 answer options. Chi-square statistical tests are used for data analysis. The research results indicate that there is no relationship between the respondents' age and their knowledge. However, there is a significant relationship between educational level and the duration of care with family knowledge of mental disorders. Therefore, further research is recommended to understand the factors influencing the level of knowledge related to the concept of mental disorders.
