Abstract

Lack of public awareness of waste makes the environment dirty and unhealthy, there are also people who throw rubbish in other people's rubbish bins so that the owners of the rubbish bins are confused about how to dispose of the rubbish because their rubbish bins are already full of other people's rubbish. The aim of making this ESP32-based automatic trash can is to attract people's interest in throwing away their rubbish in the right place so that the environment is clean. The ESP32-based automatic trash can uses fingerprint as a useful access to open and close the trash can, using a servo motor to automatically move the trash can lid. And equipped with an SD card module to process data resulting from waste collection and stored on a memory card. With this, the trash can can only be opened by people who have access. There are several sensors, including a loadcell sensor which functions to calculate the load of waste produced and an RTC (Real Time Clock) sensor which functions to display the time when the waste is disposed of. The average error value on the loadcell sensor is 3.53% and the average accuracy value is 96.47%. The results obtained from the automatic trash can are if the fingerprint is registered on the fingerprint then the display on the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is "OPEN TRASH CAN" and if the fingerprint is not registered on the fingerprint then the display on the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is "FINGERPRINT NOT REGISTERED”.
