Abstract

The aims of this research are 1) Describe the intrinsic elements in the novel "Surya" by Restu El tungri, 2) Describe the moral values and values of struggle in the novel "Surya" by Restu El tungri. 3) Describe the application of literary works of moral values and the value of struggle in the novel "Surya" by Restu El ngguri on literature learning in high school. Data collection techniques use listening techniques, note-taking techniques and interview techniques. The validity technique uses theoretical triangulation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions/verification. The results of this research are 1) finding intrinsic elements consisting of: Theme, plot, setting, characters and characterization, point of view, language style and message in the novel Surya by Restu El tunguri 2) finding moral values and struggle values, each of which is multiplied into struggle values: the value of respect, the value of cooperation, the value of unity, the value of the spirit of never giving up, the value of being willing to sacrifice. and moral values are divided into 3 forms, namely human relations with humans consisting of the value of helping and the value of caring. Human relationship with God consists of the value of prayer and the value of gratitude. The human relationship with oneself consists of the value of self-confidence. 3) Literary works of moral values and the value of struggle in the novel "Surya" by Restu El Waituri on literature learning in high school are based on the Ministry of Education and Culture 2018 (Kemendikbud 2018) class XII SMA in KD. 3.9. Analyze the content and language of the novel and 4.9 Design a novel or novelette by paying attention to the content and language both orally and in writing with relevant novel text material used as literary teaching material in SMP/MA because it meets the criteria for suitability aspects, namely language aspects, psychological aspects and background aspects cultural background.
