Abstract
This research focuses on two aspects, namely the structure of poetry and social aspects in poetry. The structure and social aspects of the poem are used in the research only limited because it is based on the initial reading of the poetry anthology entitled Seeing Fire Work by M. Aan Mansyur. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. In the data collection process, the researcher used the observational approach of reading and writing. The basic method is called the tapping method, while the advanced method is the observational approach without direct involvement and the recording method. Interviews were utilized to obtain information from expert Indonesian language teachers. The research results presented are aspects of structure and social value. The format of the poem involves physical structure, as well as intellectual (mental). The physical structure consists of; versification, typography, rhyme. Intellectual consists of; grammatical structure, theme, majas, imagery, and emotion. Social values consist of friendship, community, caring, mutual ooperation, and helping. The relevance of structural aspects and social values in the poetry anthology Seeing Fire Work by M. Aan Mansyur can be utilized as subject matter for literary works at the senior high school level, because it is able to make learning that attracts students' interest in learning, contains structural aspects and social values of a person who can be an example for students in life.
