Abstract
Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has hit many countries around the world, including Indonesia. The CDC says that the disease can spread from human to human through saliva droplets. COVID-19 cases in Indonesia have recorded an increase of 6,525,120 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 158,871 deaths. In order to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases, the government requires COVID-19 vaccination including for pregnant women to reduce mortality and morbidity. At the beginning of its appearance, evidence of the safety and effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine in pregnancy was still limited, most pregnant women did not want to receive vaccinations due to lack of knowledge, no previous experience of vaccines in pregnancy and negative perceptions of the side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine which made pregnant women afraid and hesitant to be vaccinated. Objective: This study aims to determine the clinical manifestations of pregnant women after being given COVID-19 vaccination. Methods: Restrospective research with descriptive quantitative method using questionnaires. Data analysis using univariate analysis by calculating frequency and percentage then described. Results: The most common clinical manifestation was injection pain with a total percentage of 78.9% in the first dose and 83.7% in the second dose, then local muscle pain with a total percentage of 30.1% in the first dose and 53.8% in the second dose. Conclusion: COVID-19 vaccination in pregnant women does not cause side effects that interfere with pregnancy. This study found the use of the mix and mach method of the COVID-19 vaccine in pregnant women.
