Abstract

Politeness is very important for humans in speaking and communicating. Politeness and language violations should be learned so that every communication does not offend and hurt others. This study aims to (1) describe the forms of politeness in the Gus Baha da'wah language, (2) describe the forms of politeness violations in the Gus Baha da'wah language, and (3) describe the use of politeness and politeness violations in learning Indonesian. The type of research used is a type of qualitative research with qualitative descriptive methods. The data collection technique is in the form of tapping techniques to tap Gus Baha's da'wah utterances. The advanced technique used is the free engagement speaking technique. When the free-involved listening technique is proficiently carried out it involves note-taking techniques, recording techniques, documentation techniques, and interview techniques. The data analysis technique used is the equivalent method and the normative method with the basic technique of sorting out the determinants (PUP). The advanced technique is the comparative comparison technique to equate the subject matter (HBSP). The results of the study are (1) 31 utterances contain politeness, (2) 19 utterances contain politeness violations, and (3) politeness and language violations are beneficial in learning Indonesian in high school.
