Abstract

The percentage of the elderly population in Kendal Regency is increasing from year to year. The increase in the elderly population is one of the considerations for urban planning policies. Elderly is a phase in the human life span which is marked by a decline in the physical aspect which causes people to be seen as less capable. From this statement, the idea was created to design an elderly-friendly city park facility in Kendal Regency to accommodate all aspects of elderly activities in terms of health, creativity, social interaction, recreation, spiritual well-being, and so on in the park and apply a behavioral architectural approach by paying attention to patterns behavior that refers to the comfort, habits, and needs of the elderly themselves. By paying attention to choosing a strategic location and making it easier for the elderly to reach the park and creating safe and comfortable facilities and infrastructure.
