Abstract
The objectives of this research are to find out the form of women's emancipation in Little Women Movie 2019. This research also aims to show how the director conveys women's emancipation through her work. This research is literary study. Researchers use the theory of sociology of literature to study this movie. The data used in this study includes primary data taken from dialogues, scene and the characters' activities in Little Women movie 2019. Meanwhile, secondary data are taken from books, articles, journals, and websites related to this research. Researchers used document analysis techniques to collect data. After the data is collected, the researcher uses qualitative data analysis to analyze the data. The results of this study show that there are five forms of women's emancipation contained in this movie. The director describes the emancipation of women through three ways, namely by creating characters, settings, and events. Greta Gerwig raises the issue of women's emancipation in this movie because the story contained in this movie reflects the life of American society in this century.
