Abstract

Surakarta City is currently trying to provide facilities for persons with disabilities to make Surakarta City a role model for Disability Friendly Cities (KRD). The large number of persons with disabilities must be a concern for the government or social institutions to provide integrated facility services in helping persons with disabilities carry out healing activities and independence training on the basis of humanity and equality. A disability rehabilitation facility is a medical place that functions as a place to heal disabilities caused by birth defects or post-natal surgery. Potential development facilities are a means to broaden insights and skills both vocational or interest and talent to prepare individuals with disabilities. Therapeutic healing environment is a conditioning concept of a therapeutic environment as a stimulus medium to improve performance and quality in the patient's healing process. Planning integrated facilities for persons with disabilities as a means of recovery with therapy programs and self-reliance with skills programs so that they are able to adapt back to the social community. It is hoped that the design of a rehabilitation center and potential development for disabilities in Surakarta with a therapeutic healing environment approach is expected to be a place of healing for persons with disabilities with the best quality and maximum self-improvement.
