Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-efficacy, peer compatibility, and social support on student academic procrastination in dissertation writing. The subjects of this study were undergraduate students of 2016 and 2017 Muhammadiyah University Surakarta using a simple random sample with a sample size of 309 from a population of 1368 undergrads. Methods of data analysis using multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results showed that the correlation coefficient was p=0.000 (p<0.05) with R=0.757, indicating that self-efficacy, peer compatibility, and social support were positively and significantly related to academic procrastination, indicating that they are in a relationship . Apart from the correlation with the R-squared value of 0.573 or 57.3%, the rest may be influenced by other factors which were not taken into account in this study. Also self-efficacy with a significance value of 0.002<1. 0.05 has a negative and significant relationship with academic procrastination, accepting the hypothesis (H1). Peer conformity is positively and significantly related to academic procrastination with a significance value <0.000. 0.05, then the hypothesis (H2) is accepted. Social support has a negative and significant relationship with academic procrastination, with a significant score <0.025. 0.05. Hypothesis (H3) is accepted.
