Abstract

The purpose of this research is (1) to identify the figures of speech contained in the song album Dunia Batas by Payung Teduh, (2) to identify the moral messages contained in the song album Dunia Batas by Payung Teduh, (3) to explain the relevance of the research results as literature teaching materials in high school. this research includes qualitative discrptive research. The object of this research is figures of speech and moral messages in the song album Dunia Batas by Payung Teduh while the subject of the research is the album Dunia Batas which was released in 2012 and contains 8 song titles namely Berduaa Saja, Menuju Senja, Untuk Perempuan Yang Sedang Dalam Pelukan, Rahasia, Angin Pujaan Hujan, Di Ujung Malam, Resah and Biarkan. The data in this research is in the form of speech contained in the lyrics of songs from the album Dunia Batas by Payung Teduh. Data collection techniques in this research are listening, note-taking, and library techniques. The data validation technique in this research uses data triagulation technique. This research uses data analysis with the semiotic model reading method. Based on the results of the research, it was found that (1) The use of figures of speech in the album Dunia Batas by Payung Teduh there are 5 figures of speech namely metaphor, simile, personification, metominia, and synecdoke with a total of seventeen arrays and the most dominant figure of speech is personification, (2) Moral Messages contained in the album Dunia Batas by Payung Teduh amounted to seven moral messages namely moral message of honestly, self-awareness (be careful),full of love, hopefully, responsibility, bravery and truth and the most dominant of moral messages is moral message of honestly, self-awareness (be careful), (3) The results of the research of majas and moral messages on the album Dunia Batas by Payung Teduh are in accordance with the basic competencies (KD) 3.17 class X contained in the 2013 curriculum, namely analyzing the elements of poetry building. Dunia Batas album by Payung Teduh is relevant to be used as a literature teaching material in high school because it meets the criteria for teaching materials which include aspects of the suitability of language aspects, psychological aspects, and aspects of cultural background.
