Abstract

Dating violence is a form of behavior that involves elements of violence, including physical, sexual or psychological violence that occurs in courtship, both in public and in private life. The purpose of this research is to find out the forms of dating violence, its causes and psychological impacts that occur after dating violence. This study uses respondents with the criteria of being male, people who have ever dated or are currently dating, have experienced violence during dating, students, and those who are or have been in a relationship for ± 1 year with 4 respondents. The research technique used is descriptive qualitative with interview data collection methods. The results of this study indicate that there are several forms of violence experienced by the subject, namely verbal violence such as being hit, thrown with objects, and slapped; non-verbal violence such as physical insults, being called animal names, and being insulted with harsh words and there is economic violence such as being forced to buy goods and fulfill daily needs. Faktors that cause violence are family faktors, differences of opinion, jealousy, possessiveness, and not complying with requests. The impact of violent behavior that appears on the subject is hurt, trauma, lack of confidence, and has no friends. Violence in dating does not only happen to female, but can also happen to male.
