Abstract

Resilience to victims of sexual violence is the ability of a woman to be able to get out of a state of misery or problems in her life, namely the problem of sexual violence, which can be defined more specifically as women's involvement in all forms of sexual activity, which occur in the lives of informants without any minimum or maximum age. where adults or other children of the male sex take advantage of sexual pleasure to women by force. Sexual violence occurs in various groups, both women and men. The impact of sexual violence causes various psychological, physical and social problems. Women are more vulnerable to sexual violence because in terms of power, culture and gender construction, women's weak position makes them vulnerable to becoming victims. The purpose of this research is to find out the actualization of the form of resilience that is carried out by someone who has experienced sexual violence in the city of Surakarta. The approach used in this research is qualitative with a purposive sampling technique for selecting respondents, using a phenomenological approach. The sample of this study is a female victim of sexual violence in the city of Surakarta who has a low resilience score in the city of Surakarta. The data collection technique used in this study was semi-structured interviews. The results of this study indicate that women who are victims of sexual violence are able or succeed in getting out of their lowest point after an incident or action full of violence and have a fairly high level of resilience. Victims of sexual violence are able to adapt to difficult conditions so that they are able to rise from bad conditions to become better conditions and return to live their lives like someone who has recovered from their illness. Of the several factors that have been written down, social support and positive thinking are the main factors in the formation of resilience.
