Abstract
Academic procrastination is a behavior found in students with a tendency to delay things such as formal academic assignments and there is also a tendency to seek fun diversions, so that academic tasks are no longer the main focus. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between self-control (self-control) and student academic procrastination, self-efficacy (self-efficacy) and academic procrastination and to find out the relationship between self-control (self-control) and self-efficacy (self-efficacy) towards Student Academic Procrastination. Students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) Class of 2018 became the population in this study. Then from the population, 175 students were taken who would be involved as samples in this study and selected using simple random sampling. Academic Procrastination, Self-Efficacy and Self-Control were used as a scale that was distributed via a google form link (online) and used multiple regression as a data analysis technique. After analyzing the data, it was found that there was a significant relationship between Self-Control and Self-Efficacy on Academic Procrastination with the Correlation Coefficient (R=0.708), (Ftable=85.652) and (Sig 0.00). This study also found that there was a significant positive effect between self-efficacy and academic procrastination (r=0.699, Sig 0.00). There is also a significant positive effect between Self-Control and Academic Procrastination (r=0.563, Sig 0.00). The effective contribution of self-efficacy and self-control variables with academic procrastination is 50.2% where the effective contribution to self-efficacy is 44.89% while self-control is 5.3%. The remaining 49.8% is the influence caused by other factors outside of this study.
