Abstract

The objectives of the study divided in two points: to describe the social inequality that occur in the film Pele (2016). And to describe the social inequality experienced by the main character as reflected in the film Pele (2016). This study uses a qualitative research with a sociological approach. The type of data in this study is descriptive qualitative data taken from scripts, films, and also notes when analyzing the film Pele: Birth of Legend 2016. This method of data collection uses script text and observes the film directly, where the data collection technique uses note-taking or copy/paste on the analyzed film script. The data analysis technique in this study is to analyze the social inequality as reflected in Pele: Birth of Legend 2016 by using the theory of sociological approach. The conclusion that in Brazil in the 1950s there was social inequality which was reflected in the 2016 film Pele.
