Abstract

The use of the TikTok application in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic has become a new trend among the public. The emergence of the covid-19 pandemic that is endemic in the world, the Tiktok application has increased to 2 billion users. Excessive use of the internet and social media, especially the tiktok application, can cause psychological problems, one of which is personality disorders, namely narcissistic behavior. The type of research used in this study is phenomenological research using a qualitative descriptive approach regarding the description of narcissistic behavior in Tiktok application users during the covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to describe narcissistic behavior in Tiktok application users during the covid-19 pandemic. The procedure for selecting participants in this study was by using purposive sampling with the criteria of participants from this study, namely 7 informants who described narcissistic behavior in creating tiktok application content. To test the validity of the data in this study, namely by using the triangulation method of techniques with data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study is a content analysis technique in the form of an in-depth analysis or discussion of the contents of an information regarding the tendency of narcissistic behavior in creating content for Tiktok application users during the covid-19 pandemic. The results showed that the seven subjects had narcissistic behavior in creating content during the covid-19 pandemic. The conclusion from the study is that in the narcissistic behavior shown by the subject there are characteristics of narcissistic behavior, motivating factors, and there are factors that inhibit narcissistic behavior in Tiktok application users in creating content during the covid-19 pandemic.
