Abstract

This objective of research aims to explain legal protection and the efforts that can be taken to protect the copyright of copper inlay craftsmen in the use of Instagram social media in Tumang Village, Cepogo District, Boyolali Regency based on Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning about Copyright. The background of the making of this research is the problem that arises when there are users who upload photos of copyrighted works made by craftsmen in advertising their work. This triggers the problem of plagiarism. Based on the research, copper and brass engraving works uploaded on Instagram social media should be protected by the Copyright Law and the Information and Electronic Transaction Law (UU ITE). The copyright attached to every photo uploaded on social media Instagram is also given legal protection as regulated in Article 59 of the Copyright Law, that is 50 years.
