Abstract

Thesis is one of the final projects that students must do as a condition of getting a bachelor's degree. In the process of working on it, students certainly experience several obstacles, including coming from themselves and from the surrounding environment. The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not there is a relationship between self-efficacy and social support with the anxiety of working on a thesis during the Covid-19 pandemic. The hypothesis of this study is that there is a relationship between self-efficacy and social support with anxiety of working on a thesis, there is a negative relationship between self-efficacy and anxiety of working on a thesis, and there is a negative relationship between social support and anxiety of working on a thesis. This research is included in the correlational quantitative method. Sampling was carried out using the purposive sampling method based on a total sample of 109 students from a total of ±382 students with the criteria of active students of S1 Faculty of Psychology, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta and are working on a thesis. Data were collected using a scale of self-efficacy, social support and anxiety distributed through Google Forms and analyzed using multiple linear regression methods. The results of this study have a very significant relationship between self-efficacy and social support with the anxiety of working on a thesis during the Covid-19 pandemic with a sig score of 0.000 (p<0.01), in addition to that a very significant result was also obtained between self-efficacy and anxiety of working on a thesis during the Covid-19 pandemic with a sig value of 0.000 and r -0.705, and a very significant relationship was obtained between social support and anxiety of working on a thesis during the covid-19 pandemic with a sig value of 0.000 and r -0.522. To reduce the level of anxiety experienced by students when working on a thesis, students can increase their confidence and maintain good relationships with parents, friends, and lecturers.
