Abstract

Education is very important and always inherent in human life. Education has a very important role in the country, namely improving the quality of human resources in the country. Education in Indonesia tends to be more concerned with the value of knowledge than the value of character. Thus, the need for the role of schools in the formation and development of character that must be given to students to determine the moral quality of the nation's children in the future. In the school environment, it is the teacher who has an important role in character building. This study aims to describe the role of accounting teachers in shaping the character of class X students at SMK Negeri 1 Sragen during the Covid-19 pandemic. As well as knowing the obstacles experienced by accounting teachers in shaping the character of class X students at SMK Negeri 1 Sragen during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research conducted by this researcher uses a qualitative approach and case study design. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that: 1. The role of the accounting teacher in shaping the character of students in SMK Negeri 1 Sragen are: educator, manager, administrator, supervisor, leader, innovator, evaluator, and motivator. 2. Constraints experienced by accounting teachers in shaping the character of students are: 1). The background of students is different, 2). Lack of awareness of students to the rules, 3). Students are easily influenced by things that are not external, 4). limited time on extracurricular activities of the youth.
