Abstract
This research aims to find out (1) the use of documentary video learning media of volcanism process materials as the basis of disaster knowledge in class X of Sma Negeri 1 Jatinom is able to increase student knowledge, (2) To find out the effectiveness of the use of documentary video material on the process of volcanism as the basis of disaster knowledge in class X of Sma Negeri 1 Jatinom in the learning process. This study is an experimental study using a one-group pretest-posttest design that compares the results of pretest and posttest class X IPS C. The study used a class of 36 students. Data collection techniques using questionnaires in the form of learning outcome tests. The hypothesis test analysis technique used is the t-test. The results of this wait showed that 1) learning using video media was able to increase students' knowledge, it was based on an average pretest score of 56. While the average posttest score of 86 with the number of students 36. Thus the results of research in the X-IPS C class increased after the application of video learning media to volcanism materials. This is based on the paired samples t-test obtained a sig value (2 tailed) = 0.000 which means < 0.05 so that Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it can be concluded that the use of video media is effective in increasing students' knowledge of volcanism materials.
