Abstract

Rahmawati Dwi Wulandari, Q100170054 Model Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah Dalam Meningkatkan Mutu Sekolah Di SMP Muhammadiyah Alkautsar Program Khusus Kartasura Kartasura. Tesis. Program Studi Administrasi Pendidikan. Sekolah Pascasarjana. Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. This study aims to reveal the leadership model of the Alkautsar Junior High School Principal in improving the quality that describes 1). The model of leadership of Alkautsar Junior High School Principal, 2). The leadership strategy of SMP Muhammadiyah Alkautsar Program Khusus Kartasura Principal, 3). Forms of support and obstacles for school principals in improving school quality. The research method used is a qualitative research method. The study was conducted at Alkautsar Junior High School directly by researchers by interviewing, observing, recording and recording important documents. Interviews were conducted with school principals, vice principals, and teachers. Observation is done by observing the school environment. Data was tested by data triangulation method. Data analysis techniques concern three components, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion / verification. The results of this study found several things. The first model of leadership of the Principal and transformational, giving teachers and employees wide space to show their potential and involve teachers and employees in advancing the school. Secondly, the Principal tried to improve the quality of the school with various strategies, namely building the construction, management of student input by comprehensive guidance system, inputing students from an early age and Human Resources management. Third, Principal leadership has a form of support and constraints. This form of support comes from the teacher in the form of the attitude of the teacher who accepts and implements the leadership policy, shows quality performance, contributes creative ideas. The Principal also get the trust from school residents. The obstacles faced by the Principal are some teachers who are still not disciplined, students problem, land or facilities and infrastructure ,and problems arising from the surrounding environment.
